Now that we’ve entered 2020, I thought it would be fun to look back on the photos I’ve taken in the last 10 years, and pick 10 of my favorite images.

Is there any wonder why I’m so in love with Reykjavík, especially in the winter? I took this during our third trip to Iceland. Straight magical.

Some of my most treasured moments include sunrise walks on the beach in St. Augustine with my husband and our pup. This photo was selected as an Editors’ Favorite by David Y. Lee in a National Geographic Your Shot assignment called Why We Love Pets in 2019.

I had the honor of photographing my Niece’s birth. It was an incredible experience that I’ll never forgot. Shout-out to my twin sister, Lyd, for allowing me to be part of these magical moments.

The winter of 2015 was my first trip to Iceland. We drove from Reykjavík to the South Coast and made sure to hike to Sólheimajökull glacier. The conditions that day were challenging. It was raining, the wind was blowing, and the ground was so icy and slippery. When we got to the famous glacier, a group was along the side of it, making for the perfect scale of the large, blue ice. The weather was so challenging to shoot in that I was completely unsure if I got any decent photos while out at the glacier. As it turned out, I did get a couple of shots I was happy enough with.

While people-watching along a pier in St. Pete at sunset, I saw a fisherman throw some bait up to the birds. It was a pretty interesting scene, although, please note that I don’t advocate for feeding wildlife like this.

How could I not absolutely love this photo? I mean c’mon! The family was too cute, and the soft light from a cloudy sunset created a beautiful scene.

Rainy season in Florida can really create some interesting (and beautiful!) scenes to photograph. This photo was chosen as an Editors’ Favorite by Prasenjeet Yadav in a National Geographic Your Shot assignment called Plant Kingdom in 2019.

I loved how beautifully positioned this Great Blue Heron was and how it was so well-framed. The soft morning light didn’t hurt either.

Nature walks in beautiful light. What’s not to love?

The architecture of Hallgrímskirkja church is stunning any moment of any day, but it’s particularly incredible when fireworks on New Year’s Eve paint the sky around it various colors.
Bonus shot: The large, featured image on the top of this post is my Sunflowers & Stars shot I took in November 2019 in Tampa, FL.
These are only 10 of my favorite photos from the last 10 years. As you can imagine, I have many more favorites from the last decade. I’ve been able to photography so many amazing places and people, and I look forward to continuing to do so!
